Roll and Coasters: Single Again

R&Cs: Single Again

High-profile relationships are always susceptible to fissure and break down under the constant glare of public whose opinion is steady-fed and informed by social and traditional media. Pressure can bust pipes, but it can also make diamonds. For Big Sean, it was much of both as he explains on his latest offering, “Single Again”, and in a Twitter thread following the release of the complementary video. Healing, self-care and feeling good is a great mindset to take into the week and it’s the overall vibe that permeates here. Finally, I really hope we get to have a Harmonize and Q Chilla joint album because, based on “My Boo”, “Nionyeshe” and now “Go Low”, it’s surefire formula.

I wrote as kid. (I'd die if you'd ever get your hands on those poems.) And I wrote as a teen. (We thought our raps would spearhead revolution.) I write these days to share my joys and perspectives. I am as subjective as they come. I found a bunch of blessed souls that are just as expressive. And Africa is all the better for it. (I think I never really changed.)
