Roll and Coasters: Never Really Over

R&Cs: Never Really Over

The summer is just around the corner and, as Sen remarked, artists are lining up with their best in order to strike gold, win our hearts and be crowned the song-of-the-summer. Along with a comeback narrative, Katy Perry has swung for the fences with “Never Really Over”, her first solo outing in two years. It’s catchy and endearing single that some are already calling her best work. Whether or not we’re giving in to recency bias, it is an undeniable hit and Katy Perry will face stiff competition from her peers in the pop music arena — some of whom are in this playlist. At the end of day, we’ll have no shortage of catchy tunes to enjoy over the next few months. I call that a win.

I wrote as kid. (I'd die if you'd ever get your hands on those poems.) And I wrote as a teen. (We thought our raps would spearhead revolution.) I write these days to share my joys and perspectives. I am as subjective as they come. I found a bunch of blessed souls that are just as expressive. And Africa is all the better for it. (I think I never really changed.)
