Roll and Coasters: Wake Up

Before we get going, here’s a little motivation for a change. By his latest album (ISM this year), dancehall legend Mr Vegas had endeavored on an introspective and reflective spiritual journey. It has led him to favor classic reggae sonics to further/better express his views and newfound perspectives. “Wake Up”, the third track of the album’s dozen, is as blunt as they come: “Wake Up Black People It’s Time To Know Your True Self … If you can’t accept the truth you still mentally enslaved.” So, let’s open up to positive messages such as Mr Vegas’, a little bit of partying and good music from all horizons.
