Smoke x Mirrors '20|05: I

I don’t know about you, but I still can’t get to this new normal. As challenging as it has been to digest new music without freedom to move about or congregate, it has been a welcome distraction and an efficient coping resource. And with our beloved artists still doing what they know best, I felt that getting back here with new Smoke x Mirrors playlists would only be par for the course. Today, I was spurred by compatriot DarkoVibes and specifically his excellent debut album, Kpanlogo. It brought back to mind my homie’s thoughts on the symbiosis that could easily be achieved between our African artists and their counterparts in the Carribean. Thusly, I took this playlist along the afrobeats/dancehall/reggae path to further highlight the natural similarities in the sounds and styles. I’m sure you’d concur…and (obviously!) enjoy!
