R&Cs: BMO

Ari Lennox is a gem of an artist and her latest opus (Shea Butter Baby) is a gem of an album that has spawned a gem of a single: “BMO” — it stands for ‘Break Me Off’. (Don’t believe me though. My partner has claimed the same months back!) It’s a much deserved spot atop this selection that seamlessly transitions from R&B to pop rock to different variants of hip-hop. Personally, I also enjoyed the songs from Toni Romiti, Shy Glizzy, Benny and Bella’Swavy — I’m aware that song is a bit dated, but it’s still a delight! Your turn to dig in!

Hewa Yasin
