R&Cs: Victory Lap

Once again, compliments of the season to you and yours. I hope that 2019 will be a year filled with great(er) health and punctuated by highs in your professional and personal enterprises. And I also hope that somewhere in there will be numerous visits to The Buck Stop 😁. Ahead of a documentary on his debut album, Victory Lap, Nipsey Hussle has finally released the video for the title track. (And we find out that he did go to the Mayan Ruins!). You’ve read me raving about the artist over time and the album in particular. So, how high I placed the song shouldn’t be a surprise.

I’d also recommend the excellent wrap up by Rapman, whose “Shiro’s Story” series was simply outstanding. His acolyte Cadet has now joined the likes of 2Baba and Cassper Nyovest as sure values. Finally, shout out to DJs From Mars for the David Guetta megamashup: another way to put into perspective the enormous contribution the French DJ has had on pop music.
