Roll and Coasters: God's Plan (R.I.P. Ebony)

R&Cs: God’s Plan (R.I.P. Ebony)

Here’s your 20-pack of newness to kick off the week and I had to lead it with Drake’s whose heartwarming video for his latest hit single would have endeared him to many — starting with the recipients of his enormous magnanimity. And I follow it with another moving visual piece: this time, a tribute to Ebony — the young Ghanaian whose life was tragically cut short over a week ago. However controversial she was deemed to be, her talent and potential were undeniable. And I salute the Musicians Union of Ghana, along with Ghana’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and the Ghana Music Rights Organisation for a fitting tribute. With only one album to cherish, Bonyfied, we’ll forever be left to wonder what could have been.

I wrote as kid. (I'd die if you'd ever get your hands on those poems.) And I wrote as a teen. (We thought our raps would spearhead revolution.) I write these days to share my joys and perspectives. I am as subjective as they come. I found a bunch of blessed souls that are just as expressive. And Africa is all the better for it. (I think I never really changed.)
