It’s no secret that I’ve been enamored about amapiano: I’ve been raving about it for almost two years now! The sub-genre grew out of Pretoria to progressively take over South Africa and then set its sights on the rest of the continent. Nowadays, it’s no longer uncommon to hear our usual hitmakers from Nigeria, Tanzania, and elsewhere layer on top of amapiano trademark synths, and pulsing bass drums. So, there’s no way to cover all of that in MPN, my first in a series of goodenthralling vibes playlists. It just felt right to start with a movement that has hooked me for some time, and elicited instant delight whenever I shared it with friends. One last note, the number of tracks is a nod to the early amapiano mixes I heard. Enjoy MPN!

Enjoy and come back soon...
I wrote as kid. (I'd die if you'd ever get your hands on those poems.) And I wrote as a teen. (We thought our raps would spearhead revolution.) I write these days to share my joys and perspectives. I am as subjective as they come. I found a bunch of blessed souls that are just as expressive. And Africa is all the better for it. (I think I never really changed.)
