R&Cs: Ndibambe

When Heavy-K released his excellent album last year, I was immediately drawn to “Ndibambe” and Ntombi’s lovely voice. Finding out what the lyrics actually meant — ndibambe means “hold me” in xhosa — and that the singer and producer were actually a married couple just added more weight to the song. It’s a heavy favorite to lead a pack full of them: Black Coffee, The Chainsmokers, LSD, Oskido, and Prince Kaybee just to name a few. Enjoy!

Hewa Yasin

I wrote as kid. (I'd die if you'd ever get your hands on those poems.) And I wrote as a teen. (We thought our raps would spearhead revolution.) I write these days to share my joys and perspectives.
