R&Cs: Middle Child

J. Cole has firmly established himself in the upper echelon of emcees. He’s arguably one of the few artists out that enjoys adulation and respect from the old guard as well as the new crop in rap. The aptly titled “Middle Child”, which came out of nowhere, is the perfect metaphor for his place in hip-hop today. The song’s video is the directorial debut for the promising Mez (a fellow North Carolina son) and is sure to make waves. Hewa Yasin

I wrote as kid. (I'd die if you'd ever get your hands on those poems.) And I wrote as a teen. (We thought our raps would spearhead revolution.) I write these days to share my joys and perspectives.
