R&Cs: African Beauty

The title of this edition calls for an all-african lineup (à la Teintée Africaine) and that’s how things (almost) came out. Led by “African Beauty” the latest single off of — it’s hard to believe this! — Diamond Platnumz’s debut album. Diamond Platnumz is one of Africa’s premier star ambassador and one of the few artists, as the single and A Boy from Tandale shows, has the ability to convince his collaborators (wherever they may come from) to sing in his native Swahili.

Hewa Yasin

I wrote as kid. (I'd die if you'd ever get your hands on those poems.) And I wrote as a teen. (We thought our raps would spearhead revolution.) I write these days to share my joys and perspectives.
