We conclude our playlist series of 2019 faves here. It should be clear by now that there was a lot of music to take in. Collectively, it was also a good way to get an idea of the major tides last year. Indeed, the songs we liked reflected the continuous shift<\/a> towards a more (genre) balanced and inclusive landscape. They also, much to our joy, indicated the growing adoption and representation of Afro Pop into global popular music<\/a>. Consequently, the radio sound is becoming less uniform<\/a> and more varied — though there’s still a long way to go. Still, we had to take time and give space to our first love: hip-hop.
