GIMS was widely known as a great rapper and made his bones within the super talented Sexion d’Assaut rap group. Nowadays, GIMS has been on a sustained assault at pop notoriety and having undoubtedly conquered the French (current and former) territories, his sights are firmly trained on the rest of the World. To that end, he’s recruited<\/del> collaborated with fellow artist that boast a worldwide appeal. While “Coraz\u00f3n<\/a>” wasn’t far off the familiar hip-hop field, on “Reste”, he’s singing along with pop icon Sting. My feelings about his current direction asides, I have to admit that GIMS has more than the requisite skill set to pull it off. (And he does!) It’s our starting point for a playlist that ends with Bay Area’s stalwart emcee Kool John. Your ears will be grateful for this hour-long trip!<\/p>\n
