When I started reflecting on what to pick for playlists centered around 50 Cent, I was still overwhelmed by the massive amount of choices. 50 had a phenomenal run in the early aughts when he dominated the charts and the streets. A student of the game, he picked up on the nuggets left by the greats before him and meticulously crafted his assault on the rap game. His bigger-than-life personality, his track record, his involvement in multiple controversies…all converged into the music. As I had already explained<\/a>, 50 Cent’s body of work is one that can’t be whittled to a 20-joint playlist. (A pair of those is not enough either.)
