A rough year has come and finally gone. We’re still in the middle of the pandemic, but we’re more hopeful than ever that things will get better. If I’ve learned anything from 2020, it was that we should savour any moment of reprieve and even celebrate the little things. Today is my birthday, and I...Continue reading
I am quite fond of the Pure Lounge 4 and I was pleased with the positive feedback that the playlist had garnered. I also liked that we dug into our personal pictures to capture the feeling I wanted to convey. It proved a winning and fulfilling combo. So why not do the same again?
There’s strength in numbers. That’s the running theme behind most of the videos in this week’s Roll and Coasters. From one-two punch combinations (Bas with Cozz, Juicy J with Kanye, Pryse with Eva Alordiah) to massive posse cuts (DJ Juls, DJ Khaled, Khuli Chana), it’s all here.

Back in early 2017, due to his AfroWave Mixtape that latched on to the infatuation in the UK for African pop, Afro B gave us the strongest indication that he’d be a sensation. Then, “Drogba (Joanna)” happened. So, it appears now that the sky is the limit for the young Londoner of Côte d’Ivoire origins...Continue reading
When Naza, one of the main stars in the current wave of French African-influenced pop, R&B and rap delights, dropped his second album in a as many years, I feared he might be saturating the market. But the hits just keep on coming! The Alonzo-assisted “Ça va” (it’s OK) follows a string of successful singles...Continue reading
Every week I scour through the streaming platforms for gems that can become unquestionable favorites to you and I. There are weeks like the one we’ve just had that make my task so easy. I had a lot of fun putting this one together and delving into some really good project from the likes of...Continue reading
